Haruka Hirai

Artistic Director

Born and raised in Japan, [Name] holds a B.A. in Spanish from Seisen University in Tokyo and a Diploma in Contemporary Dance from the Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance in Germany (2021). Her work “One Rose” was nominated at the Cuerpo al Descubierto Festival in Mexico, receiving international attention for its depth and originality.

She has performed as a contracted dancer with the Marcel Leemann Physical Dance Theater in Switzerland and continues to work internationally as a freelance dancer. In March 2024, she choreographed, directed, and performed her self-produced solo work Insomnia, which explored the tension between stillness and restlessness in the human body.

With a multicultural background and a strong foundation in both performance and creation, Haruka brings a fresh and globally informed perspective to her role as our new Artistic Director.
